Colleen "Joy" DeLano, of Winfield, Kansas, passed away Saturday morning, September 4, 2010 at Harry Hynes Hospice in Wichita.
Born July 13, 1928 in Winfield, Kansas, she was the daughter of Fred and Margie (Bowers) Bartlett. She was raised and received her education in Winfield graduation from Winfield High School. After high school she attended St. John's College in Winfield.
Joy was united in marriage on May 7, 1950 to Mike DeLano in Winfield. The couple made their first home in Wichita where she worked at Beech Air Craft. Later Mr. DeLano was drafted into the United States Army and the couple moved to Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri where Joy worked on base as a clerk. After their service they returned to Winfield where she went to work for Binney and Smith in the Accounting Department. She remained at Binney and Smith for over 25 years until her retirement in the early 1990's. After retirement the couple loved to travel and would often wintered in South Texas.
Joy was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Winfield. She was also a member of the Kickapoo Campers, and the Friendly Neighbors Club.
She enjoyed knitting, crocheting, needle work and reading.

Her daughters: Cindy Seymour of Wichita; Tammy McCleave and husband, Pat of Wichita;
Her 10 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren;
And many nieces and nephews
In addition to her parents and husband, was preceded in death by her brother Fred Bartlett, Jr.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M., Tuesday, September 7, 2010 at Miles Funeral Service in Winfield. Interment will follow at Highland Cemetery.
Memorials have been established in Joy's name for the First United Methodist Church in Winfield and Winfield Rest Haven. Contributions may be made through the funeral home.
