Obituary

Clyde E. Hedden, 68, of Udall, Kansas, passed away, Thursday morning, April 27, 2017 at Wesley Medical Center in Wichita.

Born August 19, 1948 in Mankato, Kansas, he was the son of John Milton and Bonnie Marie (Johnson) Hedden. He was raised and received his education in Udall, Kansas. After high school, he joined the United States Army, where he worked as a mechanic. Following his honorable discharge from the Army, he returned to Udall.

He was married to Pat Hoffman in February of 1973. The couple made their home in Udall and later divorced. Clyde was a lifetime resident of Udall, where he worked various jobs including, working for the Udall School District and delivering mail for the United States Postal Service.

He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars in Mulvane. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and spending time with his family.

His family includes:
His mother: Bonnie Hedden of Inverness, FL;
His son: James Hedden of Douglass;
His step son: Ronald Hoffman and wife, Letha of Arkansas;
His step daughter: DeLyn and husband;
His brother: Bill Hedden and wife, Adelia of Winfield;
His sisters: Pam Shockey and husband, Duane of Haysville; Annette Enegren and husband, Brad of Wellsville; Bonita Nichols and husband, Darren of Inverness, FL; and
His five grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.

Clyde was preceded in death by his father, John Hedden.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, May 1, 2017 at 10:00 A.M. at the Udall Nazarene Church. Interment will follow at the Udall Cemetery. Friends may call at Miles Funeral Service on Sunday afternoon from 2 to 6 P.M. The family will greet visitors from 2 to 4 that afternoon.

A memorial has been established in Clyde's name for Udall First Responders. Contributions may be made through the funeral home.
