Cleetis Wayne Murphy's Obituary
CLEETIS WAYNE MURPHY, 65, of Winfield, Kansas, passed away Thursday morning, September 17, 2009 at William Newton Hospital.
Born August 16, 1944 in Moline, Kansas, he was the son of Harold and Elva (Larkin) Murphy. He was raised in Elk Falls, attending school and graduating from Elk Falls High School. Cleetis attended Vo Tech college for auto body mechanics.
He worked for General Electric as a Jet Engine Mechanic for over 40 years before retiring. During his employment, he was very active in the GE Employee Association.
Cleetis enjoyed camping and especially loved showing cars and trucks and attending car shows.
His family includes:
His son: Mike Murphy and wife, Stephanie of Collinsville, OK; and
His granddaughter: Celia Murphy of Collinsville, OK.
He was preceded in death by his parents and an infant brother.
Funeral Services will be held on Monday, September 21, 2009 at 10:00 A.M. at Miles Funeral Service. Private interment will take place at Grace Lawn Cemetery in Howard, Kansas. Friends may call at Miles Funeral Service on Sunday afternoon from 2 to 4 P.M.
A memorial has been established in Cleetis' name for the American Cancer Society. Contributions may be made through the funeral home.
