Obituary

Claudine Mae Lundy, 76, of Burden, Kansas, passed away Tuesday afternoon, January 10, 2017.

Born January 11, 1940 in Winfield, Kansas, she was the daughter of Boyd and Hazel (Searle) Ring. She was raised and received her education in Burden before moving to Winfield and graduating from Winfield High School in 1957. Claudine married Tom Reeves in 1956 at the Burden United Methodist Church. The couple made their home in Winfield. To this union, two children were born and the couple later divorced.

Claudine later returned to school and received a degree in Cosmetology. She then began working as a Cosmetologist at William Newton Hospital. She was united in marriage to Robert D. Lundy on July 6, 1968 in Winfield, Kansas. The couple made their lifelong home in Burden. Claudine became a CNA and worked at the Winfield State Hospital and Cumbernauld Village before becoming a private sitter. Mr. Lundy preceded her in death on January 8, 2014.

She was a member of Burden United Methodist Church and was President of the Women's Auxiliary. She was also a member of the Order of the Eastern Star. She enjoyed singing, playing the piano, shopping and especially enjoyed spending time with her family.

Her grandchildren: Sadie Dinkel; Keegan Benning; Ryan Reeves; Wesley Reeves; Michael Reeves; Jonathan Reeves; Steven Reeves; Matthew Reeves; Mary Means; Deborah Reese; Rebecca Means; Rachel Means; Sheldon Means; Alonna Means; Gracie Means; Jesse George; Breanna George;
Her great grandchildren: Grant Dinkel; Mila Hotchkin; Justin Reeves; Dixie Reeves; Daisy Reeves; Colton Reeves; Brody Reeves; Jake Reeves; and great granddaughter, Kylie on the way; and
Her special friend: Dale Crowley of Winfield.

Claudine was preceded in death by her parents and her husband.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, January 16, 2017 at 2:00 P.M. at the Burden United Methodist Church. Interment will follow at Burden Cemetery. Friends may call at Miles Funeral Service on Sunday afternoon from 2 to 6 P.M. The family will greet visitors during this time.

A memorial has been established in Claudine's name for the Burden United Methodist Church Women's Auxiliary. Contributions may be made through the funeral home.
