Obituary

CLARENCE "SLIM" BANNON, 94, longtime Fort Morgan, Colorado resident, died Thursday afternoon, May 8, 2008 at the East Morgan County Hospital in Brush, Colorado.
He was born November 5, 1913 in Douglass, Kansas to Wesley and Mae (Chance) Bannon. Slim married Dollie "Lucy" Need. Mr. Bannon has lived in Fort Morgan, Colorado for the last 45 years of his life.
He was a farmer and a rancher for the majority of his life. He enjoyed working with race hoses and he and his wife especially enjoyed helping at the Brush Rodeo Barbecue for many years.
Slim is survived by:
His friends, Wendell & Margaret Wacker, Wayne, Heather, and Rachel Wacker, and Wendy Jr., Tracy, and Samantha Wacker, all of Fort Morgan;
His grandsons: Wayne & Debbie Metheny of Hillrose, and Wade Metheny of Loveland;
His great granddaughter: Stannis Decker of Hillrose;
His nephews: Garold "Doc" Cox of Derby, KS, and George Richard Bannon Jr. of Douglass, KS, Marvin Cox of Wichita and Lloyd Cox of Derby; and
One niece, Leota & Dick Albright of Eldorado, KS.
He was preceded in death by one brother, George Bannon; two sisters, Oakley Cox and Emma Mahland; his daughter, Mairlyn Metheny; and his wife, Lucy Bannon.
Visitation will be Monday, May 12, 2008 from 5-8 PM at Miles Funeral Service in Winfield. Graveside funeral services will be Thursday, May 15th at 10:30 AM at Douglass Cemetery in Douglass, KS.
