Clara Flock, 76, of Winfield, passed away Wednesday evening, April 4, 2012 at Winfield Rest Haven.

Born August 24, 1935 in Winfield, Kansas, she was the daughter of John and Elizabeth Gilbert. She was raised and received her education in Winfield graduating from Winfield High School in 1953.

Clara was united in marriage to Ronald J. Flock on June 25, 1953 in Douglass, Kansas. The couple made their home in Winfield. Clara worked for Winfield Pharmacy for over 30 years retiring as a Pharmacy Tech in 2008. She also enjoyed volunteering at William Newton Hospital in the snack bar. Mr. Flock preceded her in death on October 23, 2000.

She was a member of the Church of Christ in Arkansas City, and the Presbyterian Women's Bible Class. She enjoyed crafts, riding horses and traveling. She especially enjoyed taking rides through Island Park with her dog Micha.

Her family includes:
Her sons: Gilbert T. Flock of Winfield; Jeff Flock and wife, Tara of Hot Springs, AR;
Her daughter: Tammy McClanahan and husband, Patrick of Berthoud, CO;
Her grandchildren: Jason McClanahan; Candice Spicer; Kacy Bond; Brady Flock; and Megan Flock.

Clara was preceded in death by her parents and husband.

Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, April 7, 2012 at 2:00 P.M. at Miles Funeral Service in Winfield. Interment will follow at Highland Cemetery, where she will be laid to rest beside her beloved husband Ronald Flock. Friends may call at the funeral home on Friday, April 6, 2012 from 5 to 8 P.M. The family will greet visitors that evening.

Memorials have been established in Clara's name for Winfield Rest Haven, River Cross Hospice, and for the Arkansas City Church of Christ Flint Hills Church Camp. Contributions may be made through the funeral home.
