Christopher Tye McFarland, 34, of Winfield, Kansas, passed away Monday, January 17, 2022, at the KU Medical Center in Kansas City, Kansas.

Born December 23, 1987, in San Diego, California, he was the son of Harvey and Wendy (Mikulecky) McFarland. He was raised and received his early education in San Diego and Sacramento, California, before moving with his family to Winfield in 2002. Christopher graduated from Winfield High School in 2006.

He was united in marriage to Kendra Mull on August 23, 2019, in Winfield. The couple made their home in Winfield. Christopher made his career as a caretaker for the disabled, working at several area care homes, including Capper Foundation. He also enjoyed his time delivering pizza and worked at several area businesses. He loved spending time at the lake, camping, fishing, and swimming. His favorite thing to do was spend time with his friends and his children.

His family includes his wife Kendra McFarland of Winfield; his parents, Harvey and Wendy McFarland of Winfield; his children, Layla McFarland, Cayden McFarland, and Payton McFarland, all of Winfield; his brothers, Hugh Erwin of Blackwell, OK; Jeremiah Gutierrez of Fresno, CA; his maternal grandparents, Laura and Edwin Mikulecky of Sacramento, CA; and his grandparents-in-law, Don and Mary Mull of Winfield.

Christopher was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather Bruce McFarland, and paternal grandmother Shirley Hafeli.

The family will hold memorial services at 2:00 P.M., Saturday, January 29, 2022, at the Rock Christian Church.

A memorial has been established in Christopher's name for his children's education. Contributions may be made through Miles Funeral Service.
