Christopher L. Berry, 38, of Winfield, passed away Sunday morning, April 8, 2012 at Via Christi St. Francis in Wichita.
Born January 27, 1974 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, he was the son of Darrell and Cathy Rae (Palmer) Berry. He was raised in Douglass, Kansas until his mother passed away. He moved to Kennedale, Texas to live with his aunt and uncle, John and Cheryl Berry and their sons Cody and Jake. He graduated high school in Fort Supply, Oklahoma in 1993. After school he joined the United States Army National Guard and served until 1997. He then joined the United States Army and received an honorable discharge in September of 2000.
Chris married Amy Standerfer in 1996. To this union 3 children were born. The couple later divorced. He began working in the aviation field for Raytheon. Due to a layoff he went to work at the Winfield Correctional Facility, where he met his future wife and the love of his life, Jennifer Arndt. The couple made their home in Winfield. Chris returned to the aviation field where he remained and was currently a sheet metal mechanic at Spirit Industries.
He was a member of Mount Zion Community Church in Arkansas City, Kansas. He enjoyed fishing, all kinds of sports, and the KU Jayhawks. He was an avid Pittsburgh Steeler fan.

His brother: Greg Berry and wife, Jacqueline of Woodward, OK; and
Several niece, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Graveside Memorial Services will be held on Monday, April 16, 2012 at 11:00 A.M. at Highland Cemetery in Winfield.
A memorial has been established in Chris' name for the Center of Hope. Contributions may be made through the funeral home.
