Obituary

Charles Howard Bradshaw, 75, of Winfield, Kansas, passed away Thursday night, June 29, 2017 at his home.

Born April 25, 1942 in Winfield, Kansas, he was the son of Claude H. and Elva Caroline (Biddle) Bradshaw. He was raised and received his education in Arkansas City. After school, he joined the United States National Guard and served four years before his honorable discharge.

In July of 1965, he married Connie Johnson. The couple made their home in Arkansas City. To this union, three daughters were born. The couple later divorced.

Charles was united in marriage to Vonda N. Crosby on January 24, 1986 at the First Baptist Church in Arkansas City. The couple made their first home in Arkansas City and later moved to Winfield. Charles worked at Rodeo Meats and Boeing Aircraft before beginning his career at General Electric. He remained at GE Aircraft until retiring as FPI Inspector in 2003.

He was a member of New Hope Fellowship Church in Winfield as well as a lifetime member of the American Legion. He enjoyed trap shooting, softball, helping his wife make bierocks, and especially enjoyed watching the St. Louis Cardinals and KU basketball with his great grandson, Jensen.

His family includes:

His daughters: Cathy Pike and husband, Kevin of Arkansas City; Cami Austin and husband, Kevin of Arkansas City; Charlotte Terrill and husband, Dennis of Arkansas City;
His step son: Dale Kernell of Winfield;
His step daughter: Jackie Kernell of Newkirk, OK;
His grandchildren: Justin O'Donnell, Jessica O'Donnell, Austin Pike, Baily Pike, Meagan Terrill, Hunter Terrill, Meeka Gentry, Sarah Yzquierdo and husband, Michael, Matthew Kernell, Katie Kernell; and
His great grandson: Jensen Yzquierdo.

In addition to his parents, Charles was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Autumn Terrill.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, July 5, 2017 at 2:00 P.M. at Miles Funeral Service in Winfield. Interment will follow at Highland Cemetery.

A memorial has been established in Charles' name for New Hope Fellowship Church. Contributions may be made through the funeral home.
