Cecil E. Sullivan, 87, Udall, Kansas, passed away September 19, 2016 at his home.
Born July 6, 1929 in Lyman, Oklahoma, he was the son of William and Lettie (McDaniel) Sullivan. He was raised and received his education in Oklahoma and attended Phillips University. Cecil joined the United States Army and proudly served his country during World War II.
After his honorable discharge from the Army, Cecil worked as a police officer for over ten years. He later worked in the aircraft industry for over 20 years until his retirement. He was united in marriage to Vera Colleen Kelly on February 14, 2006 in Wichita, Kansas. The couple made their home in Udall.
He was a member of Rock Christian Church and attended Udall Church of the Nazarene. He enjoyed making banjos, fiddles and mandolins and playing at jam sessions.
He is survived by his wife Colleen Sullivan of Udall, Kansas.
Graveside services will be held on October 7, 2016 at 2:00 P.M. at the Kansas Veterans Cemetery in Winfield. Miles Funeral Service is in charge of arrangements. The family will hold a reception following the service at the Udall Church of the Nazarene.
