Cathy D. Mora, 59, of Arkansas City, Kansas, passed away Thursday evening, December 29, 2022, at her home.

Born May 13, 1963 in Winfield, Kansas, she was the daughter of Robert and Evelyn "Kay" (Lewis) Smith. She was raised and received her education in Douglass, and Winfield, graduating from Winfield High School in 1981. As a young person Cathy loved to Rodeo with her family. She enjoyed horses, particularly barrel racing. After school Cathy worked for several area businesses including, Winfield Cleaners and Winfield Consumer Products. Her life was focused on her children and family.

She was united in marriage to Joseph Mora on May 6, 1998 in Arkansas City, Kansas where the couple made their home. Cathy returned to school to become a pharmacy tech and later enjoyed working as a rural mail carrier. She also enjoyed playing bingo, knitting, and crocheting. Her greatest joy was her family.

Her family includes her husband Joseph Mora of Arkansas City; her children, Kala Nally and husband, Joshua Gerdel of Newkirk, OK; Karla Nally of San Antonio, TX; Catlen Young of Lathem; Natasha Mora of Arkansas City; Austin Mora and wife, Chasta of Arkansas City; her mother Kay Wells and husband, David of Mountain Home, AR; her sister Dee Dee Turner and husband, Bubba of Mountain Home, AR; and her grandchildren, Brittany, Bailey, Cale, Briley, Braxton, Cadence, Sage, Bo, Riley, Alexa, Addison, Anaya, Annistyn, Amelya, and Zowie.

Cathy was preceded in death by her father, her maternal grandmother Beulah Lewis, her father-in-law Thomas Edward Mora, and her mother-in-law Ambra Ann Harper.

Memorial services will be held at 10:00 A.M., Monday, January 2, 2023 at Miles Funeral Service in Winfield. Private family burial will take place at a later date.

A memorial has been established in Cathy's name for Interim Healthcare Hospice. Contributions may be made through the funeral home.
