CATHERINE MARIE PRIER, 92, of Sandy City, Utah, and formerly of Winfield, passed away peacefully Saturday morning, October 8, 2011 at Cross Land's Health Care in Sandy City with her loving granddaughter Pam and Pam's husband Mark by her side.
Born on December 7, 1918 in St. Paul, Minnesota, she was the daughter of Julius and Henrietta (Nelepenski) Iverson. She was raised and received her education in St. Paul and lived there until 1958.
She was united in marriage to Carl Colquhoun in 1936 in St. Paul. To this union, 5 children were born. The couple later divorced.
Marie moved to Arkansas City, Kansas in the early 1960's where she met and married Hershel Prier. The couple made their home in Winfield, Kansas. Mr. Prier preceded her in death in 1991. In early 2010 she moved to Utah to live with her daughter Susan and Susan's husband Bill. She enjoyed reading and crocheting. She loved baseball, especially her favored Chicago Cubs. Marie was a loving and caring person who will be missed by all who knew her.

Her son: Jerry Colquhoun and wife Joan of Utah;
Her daughters: Diane Daniels and husband James of Winfield, KS; Susan Kuehn and husband Bill of Sandy, UT; and Cheryl Colquhoun of Arkansas City, KS;
Her daughter-in-law: Anita Colquhoun; and
Her 13 grandchildren, and many great, and great-great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her son, Richard Colquhoun; her brother, Norman Iverson; and her sister, Urcella Callahan.
Graveside memorial services will be held at 2:00 P.M., Friday, October 28, 2011 at Highland Cemetery in Winfield, Kansas. Tom Boese of the First Church of the Nazarene will officiate. The family will greet friends following the service at the Winfield VFW.
In lieu of flowers a memorial has been established in Catherine's name for the Cowley County Humane Society. Contributions may be made through the funeral home.
