Carrie L. Reed, 49, of Winfield, passed away early Sunday morning, February 22, 2009 at her sister's home.

Born August 29, 1959 in Winfield, Kansas, she was the daughter of Robert A. and Betty R. (Goodaile) Reed. Her father's military career took them many different places while she was growing up including; Germany, New Mexico, and Fort Riley, Kansas. They returned to Winfield in the early 1970's when her father retired from the military.

Carrie remained in Winfield where she worked for many area restaurants both in the kitchen and as a waitress. She was a member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary. She especially loved spending time and going to the lake with friends and family.

Her parents: Robert A. and Betty Reed of Winfield;
Her sister: Sandra McPherson and husband, Rusty of Winfield;
Her niece: Kimberly Randall and husband, Todd of Winfield;
Her nephews: Jeff McPherson of Lawrence, and Justin McPherson and wife, Laura of Winfield;
Her great nieces: Kylie and Emily Randall;
Her great nephew: Barrett McPherson; and
Many cousins and friends.

Funeral Services will be held on Thursday February 26, 2009 at 2:00 P.M. at Miles Funeral Service in Winfield. Friends may call at the funeral home on Wednesday February 25, 2009 from 5:00 P.M. to 9:00 P.M. the family will greet visitors from 5:00 P.M. to 6:00 P.M.

In lieu of flowers a memorial has been established in Ms. Reed's name for Hospice Care of Kansas in Winfield. Contributions may be made through the funeral home.
