Carrie L. Biddle, 86, of Winfield, Kansas, passed away Friday evening, January 25, 2019 at Winfield Senior Living.

Born February 9, 1932 in Wellington, Kansas, she was the daughter of Herman and Carrie (Erwin) Zimmerman. She was raised and received her education in rural Belle Plaine, Kansas, graduating from Belle Plaine High School in 1948. Following high school she moved to Manhattan, Kansas and received a teaching certificate from Kansas State. She then taught at rural schools in Sumner County for four years.

She was united in marriage to Willis A. Middleton on May 28, 1950 in Wellington, Kansas. The couple made their first home on the family farm west of Oxford. In 1968 the family moved from the farm in Oxford to their farm southeast of Udall. Mr. Middleton preceded her in death on January 20, 1995.

Carrie was united in marriage to Lawrence C. Biddle on January 12, 1997. The couple continued farming the Middleton farm in Udall as well as Lawrence's farm. Mr. Biddle preceded her in death on January 2, 2017.

She was a member of Oxford Christian Church and Rebekah's Lodge. Carrie was involved in the LAPN organization, was a long time Harry Hynes Hospice volunteer and served with the Cowley County Council on Aging for a number of years. She enjoyed tending to her flowers, watching cattle, and spending time with her dog tootsie.

Her family includes her son Carroll Middleton and wife, Denise of Burden; her daughter Lou Cinda Miller of Wichita; her sister Zora Weir of Arkansas City; her grandchildren, Johnathan Miller; Barbara Kirkpatrick; Jessica Jones and husband, Heath; her great grandchildren, Shawn Kirkpatrick; Kellen Kirkpatrick; Grace Jones; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husbands, Carrie was preceded in death by two sisters, Melba Foreman and Maxine Caley and her stepmother, Ola Zimmerman.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M., Friday, February 1, 2019 at Miles Funeral Service in Winfield. Interment will follow at Oxford Cemetery. A visitation is scheduled for Thursday evening January 31, 2019 from 4 to 8. The family will greet visitors from 5 to 7 that evening.

A memorial has been established in Carrie's name for Harry Hynes Hospice. Contributions may be made through the funeral home.
