Carolyn S. Foster, 77, of Udall, Kansas, passed away, Friday morning, July 19, 2024 at her home.

Born May 11, 1947 in Winfield, Kansas, she was the daughter of Odra and Barbara (Priest) Gardner. She was raised and received her education in Winfield, graduating from Winfield High School. At the age of 15 Carolyn began waitressing at Ranch Lunch and later at Young's Cafe.

She was united in marriage to Thomas Leslie "Les" Foster on February 14, 1967 at the First Assembly of God Church in Winfield. The couple made their home in Udall where Carolyn was a dedicated wife, mother, and homemaker. In 1980 she began her career as a school bus driver with USD 463 in Udall. She remained with the school for over 37 years until retiring.

She was a member of the Udall Congregational Church starting in 1970. Recently she was attending First Baptist Church in Belle Plaine. She enjoyed crocheting, riding horses, and sewing. She made wedding dresses and bridesmaid dresses for her daughters' weddings.

Her family includes her husband Les Foster of Udall; her daughters, Tera Shultz and husband, Carl of Winfield; Tina Branch and husband, Carl of Winfield; Tonya Bruce and husband, Joe of Atlanta; her sisters, Mailyn Powell and husband, Chuck of Rosehill; Donna Tuxhorn and husband, Art of Belle Plaine; her brother Jim Gardner and wife, Rosemary of Tucson, AZ; and her nine grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.

Carolyn was preceded in death by her parents.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M., Thursday, July 25, 2024 at Miles Funeral Service in Winfield. A visitation is scheduled at the funeral home on Wednesday evening from 4 to 8. The family will greet visitors that evening.

A memorial has been established in Carolyn's name for USD 463 in Udall. Contributions may be made through the funeral home.
