Obituary

Carolyn G. Colburn, 75, of Andover, formerly of Atlanta, Kansas, passed away Sunday morning, June 28, 2015 at Andover Court in Andover.

Born July 1, 1939 in Winfield, Kansas, she was the daughter of Boyd Wilson and Mabel Lorene (Fabian) Ensley. She was raised and received her education in Cambridge, and graduated from Cambridge High School in 1957. She later attended Wichita Business School.

Carolyn married Charles Colburn in 1958. The couple made their home first home in Wichita and Carolyn was a homemaker and mother. In 1967 the family moved to Clearwater, Kansas and in 1992 moved to Atlanta where she remained until moving to Andover Court earlier this year.

She was a lifetime member of the Cambridge Presbyterian Church and a member of the Artemis Card Club. She enjoyed sewing, baking, playing cards, and writing letters to family and friends. She also enjoyed college sports, especially Wichita State Baseball and Basketball, and KU Basketball.

Her family includes:
Her sons: Kelly Colburn of Kermit, TX; Casey Colburn and wife, Marilyn of Wichita;
Her daughter: Sara Young and husband, Scott of Wichita;
Her brother: Mike Ensley and wife, Joyce of Atlanta;
Her grandchildren: Leslie Jane Rowland of Wichita; Krisi and Cindi Colburn of Clearwater; Nick Young of Coronado, CA; Erin Young of Wichita;
Her great granddaughter: Lauren Jane Rowland of Wichita; and
Her many nieces and nephews.

Carolyn was preceded in death by her parents.

Memorial services will be held at 10:00 A.M., on Saturday, July 11, 2015 at the Cambridge Presbyterian Church in Cambridge. A private family inurnment will take place at Cambridge Cemetery prior to the memorial service. Miles Funeral Service is in charge of arrangements.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials in Carolyn's name for the Cambridge Presbyterian Church and for Phoenix Hospice in Wichita.
