Chrisman
December 11, 1939 – May 20, 2022
Carolyn Sue Chrisman, 82, formerly of Winfield, Kansas, passed away Friday evening, May 20, 2022, at UT Health of Athens in Athens, Texas.
Born December 11, 1939, in Grenola, Kansas, she was the daughter of Truman and Dorothy (Sweet) Harrington. Carolyn was raised and received her education in Grenola, graduating from Grenola High School in 1957.
Carolyn was united in marriage to Tim L. Chrisman on October 14, 1961 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Moline, Kansas. The couple lived in Winfield for a few years and later in Sedan for a short time before returning to Winfield. Carolyn worked as a telephone operator for Southwestern Bell for many years. She also worked at the Walnut Valley Lanes. Tim preceded Carolyn in death on May 24, 2003.
Carolyn enjoyed bowling and even received the "Bowler of the Year" award once. Additionally, Carolyn's hobbies included crocheting blankets, watching movies, and putting together puzzles. Most of all, Carolyn loved spending time with her kids, grandkids, and great-grandkids.
Carolyn's family includes her sons, Joe Chrisman and wife, Lisa of Winfield; and John Chrisman of Winfield; her daughter Marilyn Crotser and husband, Steve of Mabank, TX; her eight grandchildren, Kelly Jacques and husband, Martin; Levi Chrisman; Rebecca Chrisman and fiancé, Brandon Beyard; Drew Chrisman and wife, Ally; Emily Chrisman; Seth Crotser; Caleb Crotser; and Sarah Roots and husband, Aaron; her eight great-grandchildren, Emilia, Abe, Lucy, Cash, Jagger, Charleigh, Benji, and Miriam; her two bonus great-grandchildren, Bryon and Kevin; her sister Beth Moore; her aunt Shirley Gillespie; her sisters-in-law Janet Harrington and Janice Chrisman; and her brother-in-law Mack Chrisman and wife, Joy.
In addition to her parents and husband, Carolyn was preceded in death by her sisters, Peggy Harrington and Mary Miller; and her brother Jim Harrington.
Graveside funeral services will be held on Friday, May 27, 2022, at 10:00 A.M. at Highland Cemetery. A visitation is scheduled at Miles Funeral Service from 5 to 7 P.M. on Thursday, May 26, 2022.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be made in Carolyn's name to the Mabank Special Panthers Special Olympics Team. Contributions may be made through the funeral home.
