Obituary

CAROLE M. GEU KILTS PENNINGTON, 68, of Udall, Kansas, passed away Sunday morning, September 7, 2008 at her home.

Born on July 7, 1940 in Wisner, Nebraska, she was the daughter of Otto and Rosina (Brannolte) Geu. At the age of 6, the family moved to Eureka Springs, Arkansas where she attended school. She returned to Winfield, Kansas and graduated from Winfield High School in 1958.

She was united in marriage to A. Dennis Pennington on July 31, 1982 at the First Baptist Church in Udall where the couple made their home. Carole was employed at Cessna and later Boeing Aircrafts in Wichita in the sheet metal department. She had worked as an aide at the Winfield State Hospital. Carole was also employed at the Winfield Correctional Facility as a corrections office. She retired in 1992 due to health reasons.

She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Udall. She enjoyed spending time with her family, reading, gardening and growing cactus.

Her daughter: Tracey Kilts of Udall, KS;
Her sister: Aletha Robinson of Winfield, KS;
Her grandchildren: Tristan and Joey Kilts, Jon Eric Kilts, Joshua, Rachel and Caleb Pennington, Bo, Brandi, and Brandon Pennington, Sarah and Jason Love and Adam & Faith Wheeler.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Merlin Geu.

Funeral services will be held at 2:30 P.M., Wednesday, September 10, 2008 at the First Baptist Church in Udall. Interment will follow at the Udall Cemetery. Friends may call from 5:00 to 9:00 P.M., Tuesday, September 9, 2008 at Miles Funeral Service in Winfield. The family will greet friends from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M., that evening.

A memorial has been established in Carole's name for Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice. Contributions may be made through the funeral home.
