Caleb Aaron Mayfield, 17, of Wichita, Kansas, passed away Thursday morning, July 19, 2012 at his home.
Born on March 15, 1995 in Wichita, Kansas, he was the son of Aaron James Mayfield and Tamatha Sue (Atkins) Strange. He was raised in Wichita and received his education in Goddard where he was starting his senior year at Eisenhower High School. In addition to being a member of the Eisenhower High School basketball team he played summer basketball for the MAYB Wichita Knights. Caleb worked at Applebee's as a host.
He was a member of the Ascension Lutheran Church in Wichita. He enjoyed fishing, basketball, shopping, music, and hanging out with his friends.

His mother: Tami Strange of Wichita;
His brothers: Evan and Seth Strange of Wichita;
His sisters: Jaden and Avery Mayfield of Wichita;
His grandparents: Jerald and Jimalene Cales of Winfield; Marlene Mayfield of Winfield; and
His great grandmother: Bonnie Hensley of Winfield.
Caleb was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Floyd and Carolyn Mayfield, and his maternal grandmother, Betty Burt.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 A.M., Wednesday, July 25, 2012 at Ascension Lutheran Church located at 842 N. Tyler in Wichita. Interment will be held at 3:00 P.M. that afternoon at Highland Cemetery in Winfield. Friends may call at Miles Funeral Service from 5:00 to 8:00 P.M., Tuesday, July 24, 2012. The family will greet visitors during this time.
Memorials have been established in Caleb's name for the family, to help defray funeral expenses, for the Wichita Children's Home and for the Eisenhower High School Basketball Team. Contributions may be made through the funeral home.
