Brett Allen Bannon, 48, of the Udall and Douglass area, passed away Tuesday morning, October 15, 2019 at Wesley Medical Center in Wichita.
Born November 12, 1970 in Winfield, Kansas, he was the son of Harold Eldon Bannon, Jr. and Sharon (Northcutt). He was raised in Udall and Douglass area and attended Udall schools, graduating Udall High School in 1989. He then attended Cowley County Community College for a short time. Brett worked for the Cowley County Noxious Weed Department and was the Udall Bus Supervisor before beginning his career at Textron as a painter. He worked for Textron for 20 years.
He was united in marriage to Loralee on June 17, 2001 at the Country View Baptist Church in Udall. The couple made their home in the Udall/Douglass area. They had two children, Amanda and Kyle.
Brett was a member of New Hope Fellowship Church, as well as the Union at Textron. He was an air pistol and muzzle loader coach for the Cowley County 4H Shooting Sports and a past member of K&O Steam and Gas Engine Association. He loved guns and fireworks. Brett was the happiest when he was outside.
His family includes his wife Loralee of the home; his children, Amanda and Kyle of the home; his mother Sharon Bannon of Douglass; his brother Mark Bannon and wife, Chris of Caney; and his niece and nephew, Sarah and Noah of Caney.
Brett was preceded in death by his father "Junior" Bannon.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, October 19, 2019 at 10:00 A.M. at the First Presbyterian Church in Winfield. Graveside services will be held at 3:00 P.M. that afternoon at the Red Bud Community Cemetery. A visitation will be held at Miles Funeral Service on Friday evening from 6 to 8 P.M. The family will greet visitors during this time.
A memorial has been established in Brett's name for Cowley County 4H Shooting Sports. Contributions may be made through the funeral home.
