Brandy "Sue" Martinez, 46, of Atlanta, Kansas, passed away Wednesday evening, April 13, 2022, due to injuries obtained during a motor vehicle accident.

Born February 17, 1976, in Ponca City, Oklahoma, she was the daughter of Noble A. and Donna M. (Herdlitchka) Pendland. Sue was raised and received her education in Blackwell, Oklahoma; Winfield, Kansas; and Perry, Oklahoma. After school, she spent time working and traveling the country finding herself. She moved to Arkansas City, Kansas, in 2008 and there, she met her neighbor, Kurt Martinez.

Sue was united in marriage to Kurt Martinez on March 22, 2014, at Ark City First Assembly of God Church. The couple made their home in Atlanta. Sue was a loving mother, wife, and homemaker. She returned to school and received an Associates degree in Criminal Justice and most recently, was attending Cosmetology school in Wichita. She enjoyed playing the piano and guitar, watching her son wrestle, attending concerts, camping, fishing, boating, and feeding the family's farm animals. She especially enjoyed being with her kids, grandkids, and other family.

Sue's family includes her husband, Kurt Martinez of Atlanta; her children, Sophia Overfelt of Atlanta; Brayden Martinez of Atlanta; her siblings, Robin Lebeda of Winfield; Noble "Rick" Pendland of Middleton, OH; Noblene "Penny" Schoonover and husband, Wesley of Winfield; her bonus children, Kylee Martinez and Brenton Pappan of Arkansas City; Kurt Martinez, Jr. of Winfield; Linda Nelson of Duncan, OK; Xaviera Harp and husband, Robert of Commerce, TX; her grandchildren, Chevy Robbins, Keeley Pappan, Luka Pappan, Maddilynn Nelson, Ryleigh Nelson, Ellie Riley, and Baby Harp on the way; and many nieces and nephews.

Sue was preceded in death by her parents.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M., Monday, April 25, 2022 at Atlanta Christian Church. Interment will follow at Atlanta Cemetery. A visitation is scheduled at Miles Funeral Service on Sunday, April 24, 2022, from 2:00 to 6:00 P.M. The family will greet visitors during this time.

The Sue Martinez Memorial Fund has been established for the benefit of her children. Contributions may be made through the funeral home.
