Obituary

Brandon Lee McBride, 53, of Winfield, Kansas, passed away Saturday, August 28, 2021, at his home.

Born June 27, 1968, in Renton, Washington, he was the son of Jack and Sandra (Reuther) McBride. He was raised and received his education in the Atlanta and Winfield area. Following school, Brandon traveled to Phoenix, Texas, and Indiana before making his home back in Winfield.

He married Michelle Rutherford in 1987 in Winfield. The couple had three children, Treven, Tiffany, and Stormy. They later divorced but remained great friends. Brandon worked as a mechanic, first at Western Auto and later for Valley Coop. He later owned and operated The Pit Stop with his friend, Tim Cox.

He enjoyed going to Branson and Silver Dollar City, and was an avid animal lover. He loved spending time with his children and grandchildren. He especially enjoyed going to the dragstrip. He was a jack of all trades and was always on the go.

His family includes his children, Treven (Ashley) McBride of Winfield; Tiffany (Mitchell Maxwell) McBride of Winfield; Stormy (Terry Sandifar) McBride of Derby; his grandchildren, Andrew, Breana, John, Gabriel, Payeton, Natalie, Jacob, and Payslee; and his siblings, Jamie (Matt) Drake, Leah (Chris) Jenkins, Brad Tucker, and Ricci Tucker; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Brandon was preceded in death by his mother and father, his step-father Gary Tucker, siblings, Brent and Steve McBride and Casey Tucker, and his sister-in-law Bambi McBride.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, September 2, 2021, at 2:00 P.M. at Miles Funeral Service in Winfield. Interment will follow at Akron Cemetery.

A memorial has been established in Brandon's name for Mid America Dragway. Contributions may be made through the funeral home.
