Obituary

BOUNHEUANG PHETVIXAY, 70, of Winfield, Kansas, passed away Monday, April 12, 2010 at Via Christ/St. Francis Medical Center in Wichita.

Born on July 14, 1939 in Sumneua, Laos, he was the son of Khamphanh and One Phetvixay. He was raised and received his education in Laos. He served in the Vietnam War. After retiring from the military, he became a self employed barber.

He was united in marriage to Kham Phetvixay in 1959. The couple moved to Winfield in 1991 where they have made their home. He was a member of the Lao Baptist Mission and loved to garden.

His family includes:
His wife: Kham of the home;
His son: Joe (Chab) Phetvixay and wife Keomany of Winfield, KS;
His daughters: Phim Rasavong and husband Phat of Alaska; and Bounnam Sphabmixay and husband AE of Winfield, KS;
His brother: Phone Phetvixay of Laos;
His sisters: Mai Phetvixay of Laos; and Lanoy Phakonekham of Winfield, KS; and
His 8 grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Phanh Phangphanh; and his brother, Khamphan Phetvixay.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M., Saturday, April 17, 2010 at Miles Funeral Service in Winfield. Interment will follow at Highland Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home from 5:00 to 8:00 P.M., Thursday, April 15, and 9:00 to 8:00 P.M., Friday, April 16, 2010.
