Obituary

BONITA R. "BONNIE" HEAD, 48, of Winfield, Kansas, passed away Sunday morning, May 3, 2009, at Wesley Medical Center in Wichita.

Born March 1, 1961 in Winfield, Kansas she was the daughter of Darlene R. (Hill) and Richard D. Alsip, Jr. She was raised and received her education in Winfield, graduating from Winfield High School in 1979. She later attended St. John's College.

Bonnie was united in marriage to Rick Head on November 13, 1990 in Winfield. The couple made their home in the Winfield area where Bonnie worked as a CNA at Focus Developmental Center, Good Samaritan Society, and Southwind Residential Services.

She was a lifelong member of the Central Baptist Church in Winfield. Her hobbies included, collecting teddy bears, playing computer games, and working on puzzles. She especially loved spending time with her family and friends.

Her parents: Richard and Darlene Alsip of Winfield;
Her brother: Richard Alsip III of Winfield;
Her sisters: Anita Parker and husband, Tracy of Kildeare, OK; Joletta Wilson and husband, David of Winfield; Rebecca Crowley and husband, Robert of Winfield;
Her sister-in-law: Kathy Griesel and husband, Martin of Pawnee, OK;
Her grandmother: Clara M. Alsip of Winfield; and
A host of nieces and nephews.

Bonnie was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Elmer and Cordie Hill, and her paternal grandfather, Richard Alsip, Sr.

Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, May 7, 2009 at 10:00 A.M. at the Central Baptist Church in Winfield. Interment will follow at Burden Cemetery. Friends may call at Miles Funeral Service on Wednesday evening from 5 to 9. The family will greet visitors from 5 to 7 that evening.

A memorial has been established in Mrs. Head's name for The American Red Cross. Contributions may be made through the funeral home.
