Bonnie L. Drennan, of Winfield, passed away Monday morning December 22, 2008, at William Newton Hospital.
Born February 17, 1918 in Atlanta, Kansas she was the daughter of Joseph and Bonnie Belle (Price) Markley. She was raised and received her education in Winfield, graduating from Winfield High School, and later attending Southwestern College.
Bonnie was united in marriage to Carl Drennan on February 21, 1942 in Wichita. The couple made their first home in Wichita, where they remained until Carl left to serve in the United States Army Air Force, in France, in World War II. Following the war the couple moved to Winfield where they owned and operated the Carl Drennan Lincoln-Mercury Dealership from 1958 until 1972. The couple also operated the Michelin Tire Dealership until they retired in 1986. Bonnie was a dedicated wife and mother, raising the couples only daughter. She is survived by her daughter D'Ann Drennan of Wichita.
In addition to her husband and parents Bonnie is preceded in death by an infant brother Harold Markley.
Bonnie was a member of the First Christian Church in Winfield. She was also a long time member of the Winfield Country Club, where she was an avid golfer. She also enjoyed oil painting, and loved playing the piano.
Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, December 27, 2008, at 2:00 P.M. at Grace United Methodist Church in Winfield. A private family interment will follow. Friends may call at Miles Funeral Service on Friday from 5:00 to 8:00 P.M.
Memorials have been established in Mrs. Drennan's name for the Lifeline Program at William Newton Hospital, and the Winfield Arts and Humanities Council. Contributions may be made through the funeral home.
