Bobbie G. Wise, 80, of Wichita, Kansas, passed away Monday morning July 23, 2012 at the Meadowlark House in Wichita, Kansas.
Born January 5, 1932 in Udall, Kansas, he was the son of Loren and Esta (Fruits) Wise. He was raised and received his education in the Udall and Winfield area. After the 8th grade Bob left school and began working to help provide for the family. In 1952 he joined the United States Army and proudly served his country in the Korean War. He received several service awards including: the National Defense Service Medal; Good Conduct Medal; and the Bronze Service Star. In 1954 he was honorably discharged and returned home to Wichita, where he began working in the oil industry.
Bob married JoAnn Sparkman in February of 1955. To this union three children were born. The couple later divorced. In the late 1960s Bob began working for P.B. Hoidale Petroleum Equipment Company. He remained there for over 30 years and retired as the Petroleum Equipment Service Manager.
Bob enjoyed fishing, hunting, and especially loved playing with his grandchildren. He was known for his ornery sense of humor.

His grandchildren: Liane Tidemann of Wichita; Kevin Gillespie of Clearwater; Crystal Gideon and husband, Britton of Wichita; Ryan Wise of Wichita; Roy Wise of Derby; and
His 4 sisters, 1 brother, 10 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Bob was preceded in death by a son, Blaine, a daughter, Debbie Wise, a granddaughter, Jolena Young, and 3 brothers.
Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Thursday, July 26, 2012 at Miles Funeral Service in Winfield. Interment will follow at Mt. Vernon Cemetery north of Winfield. Friends may call at the funeral home on Wednesday evening, July 25, 2012 from 4 to 8 P.M. The family will greet visitors that evening.
A Memorial has been established in Mr. Wise's name for the Alzheimer Association. Contributions may be made through the funeral home.
