Obituary

Billy Steven Ireland, 60, of Winfield, Kansas, passed away Friday afternoon, May 6, 2016.

Born July 14, 1955 in Winfield, Kansas, he was the son of Billy Eugene and Norma Jean (Rising) Ireland. He was raised and received his education in Winfield, graduating from Winfield High School in 1973. Billy began working for Cessna Aircraft in Strother Field in 1973. He worked for Cessna until 1977 when he went to work for Petroleum Enterprises as a Production Superintendent. In 1981 he began pumping oil wells for Cameo Oil and Crest Oil and in 2007, Anstine Oil.

He was united in marriage to Pam Croft in 1974. To this union, three children were born, Traci, Jenni and Buck. The couple later divorced. He married Jancie Crow in 1994 and the couple added one son, Oliver to Jancie's daughters, Hilary and Kaitlyn. They later divorced.

Billy was a jockey, bull rider and saddle bronc rider. He enjoyed breaking horses, rodeoing with family and friends and being an outdoorsman. He especially loved being with his family.

His mother: Norma Ireland of Winfield;
His brothers: M. Kevin Ireland and wife, Leslie of Topeka, KS; Marty Ireland of Sallisaw, OK;
His sister: Kelle Ireland Haden of Cedar Vale, KS;
His grandchildren: Hayden James and Case Stevens Lee, Liliana Alberta and Varick Steven Wilson and Kutter Bronc and Pake Ireland; and
His nieces and nephews: Weston, Mollye, Raina and Connor Ireland, and Jarvis and Kinlee Haden.

Billy was preceded in death by his father, Billy Eugene Ireland and his brother, Kirk Ireland.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, May 13, 2016 at 2:00 P.M. at Miles Funeral Service. Interment will follow at Highland Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday evening from 4 to 8 P.M. The family will greet visitors from 6 to 8 that evening.

The family has established the Billy Ireland Memorial Fund. Contributions may be made through the funeral home.
