Billy Bradley, 91, of Dexter, Kansas, passed away Tuesday afternoon, August 13, 2024, at William Newton Hospital.
Born October 8, 1932, in Otto, Kansas, he was the son of Jesse Homer and Cleo M. (Martin) Bradley. He was raised and received his education in the Otto and Dexter areas, graduating from Dexter High School in 1950.
He was united in marriage to Donna "Darlene" Cass on June 14, 1952, at the Dexter Christian Church. The couple lived a short time in Winfield and Arkansas City, before moving to Dexter in 1957. Bill began his career as a Machinist at Beech Aircraft. He later continued his career as a Machinist with Cessna, where he remained for over 42 years.
He was a member of the Dexter Christian Church. He also served on the Dexter City Council, the Board for Low Income Housing, the Dexter Senior Citizens, and the Dexter Civic Club. He was an avid fan of the St. Louis Cardinals and also enjoyed watching KU Jayhawks and Wichita State Shockers. He also enjoyed fishing, dancing, hunting, especially coon hunting, and trips to Branson with his family each year.
His family includes his wife Darlene; his daughters, Debbie and husband, Mike; Diana and husband, Gary; Donna and husband, Gary; Dana and husband, Jeff; his brother Jim and wife, Jessie; and his ten grandchildren, 29 great grandchildren, and three great-great grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, Bill was preceded in death by a sister Dona Jean, a brother Jack, a daughter Denise, a granddaughter Jessica, and a great granddaughter Olivia.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M., Saturday, August 17, 2024, at Dexter Christian Church under the direction of Miles Funeral Service. Interment will follow at Dexter Cemetery.
Memorials have been established in Bill's name for the Dexter Christian Church and for the Dexter Senior Citizens. Contributions may be made through the funeral home.
