Billy Joe Atkins, 74, of Winfield, Kansas, passed away Wednesday morning, April 1, 2026, at the Kansas Veterans Home.

Billy was born in Dallas, Texas, on August 11, 1951. He was drafted into the United States Army in March of 1970 and served in Vietnam until his honorable discharge in March of 1972. Billy earned several medals from his service.

Interment services with Military Honors will be held 10:00 AM, Thursday, April 16, 2026, at the Kansas Veterans Cemetery in Winfield.

Memorials have been established in Billy’s name for the American Legion Post 10 or for the VFW Post 3544. Contributions may be made through the Miles Funeral Service.
