Billie Eugene Ventle, 81, of Atlanta, Kansas, passed away early Wednesday morning, November 2, 2016 at Wesley Medical Center in Wichita.
Born September 5, 1935 in Welch, Oklahoma, he was the son of Ross Jacob and Iva Arta (Spencer) Ventle. He was raised and received his education in Welch, Oklahoma and Chetopa, Kansas. Billie was united in marriage to Bonnie Belle Savage on November 13, 1955 in Independence, Kansas. The couple made their home in Atlanta. Bonnie preceded him death on January 14, 2009.
As a young man, Billie worked for Total Landscaping in Independence and as a farmer and ranch hand. He later mowed Kansas highways and planted seed for the Kansas Department of Transportation. He worked for Beech Aircraft for 40 years and five months as a sheet metal assembler, retiring in 1997.
Billie was a member of the Workers and International Association of Machinists and Aerospace. He enjoyed socializing, playing dominoes and cards and watching wrestling.

His grandchildren: Greg White; Kristy Nielsen; Jacob Ventle; Kevin Ventle; Kevin E. Ventle; Nichole Ventle; Crystal Ventle; Jonathan Ventle; Sonny E. Ventle; Abby Evans; Briane Stiglutz; Tristan Ahlstedt; Treva Whiteside; Jeremy Wooldridge; Tod Moore; Briana Moore; Erica Crane; Tracy Coller; and
His 27 great grandchildren.
In addition to his parents and wife, Billie was preceded in death by a son, Jack Ventle, brothers, Carl Jacob and Earnest Leroy and sisters, Irene Susie and Clara Marie.
Funeral services will be held Monday, November 7, 2016 at 2:00 P.M. at Miles Funeral Service in Winfield. Interment will follow at the Atlanta Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Sunday afternoon from 2 to 5 P.M. The family will greet visitors during this time.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established in Billie's name for the Atlanta Labor Day Celebration. Contributions may be made through the funeral home.
