Billie Lou Goode Finley, 71, of Winfield, Kansas, passed away Saturday evening, April 13, 2013 at her home.
Born January 1, 1942 at home in Sedan, Kansas, she was the daughter of Floyd and Marjorie (Ward) Goode. She was raised and received her education in Cedar Vale, Kansas, graduating from Cedar Vale High School. She later attended Newton Memorial School of Nursing.
Billie was united in marriage to Soloman Finley on December 29, 1962 in Wellington, Kansas. The couple had 3 boys, Jeffery Kent, preceded her in death at age 6. Billie began her nursing career at the Arkansas City Memorial Hospital and later worked at Snyder Clinic. She then began working at the Ark City Clinic where she remained until her retirement in 2005.
She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Arkansas City. She enjoyed hobbies of cooking, painting, sewing and traveling. Most of all she enjoyed her family.

Her sisters: Nancy Schmid of Cheyenne, WY; Jeanette Lyke of Arkansas City; Sherry Lancaster of Snellville, GA; Deborah Collingsworth of Oxford;
Her sister-in-law: Robin Goode of Arkansas City;
Her grandchildren: Lucas Finley, Christopher Finley and Francesca Finley all of Arkansas City; and
A large family of nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Finley was preceded in death by a son, Jeffery Kent Goode and her brother, Michael Goode.
A private family memorial service will be held at a later date. Miles Funeral Service in Winfield is in charge of arrangements.
In lieu of flowers the family suggest memorials be made in Billie's name for the KU Cancer Center of the American Cancer Society. Contributions may be made through the funeral home.
