Beverly Kay Shipman, 64, of Winfield, Kansas, passed Friday morning, December 9, 2022 at KU Medical Center.
Born in Wichita, Kansas, on December 12, 1957, she was the daughter of Richard and Letha Fouch. The family lived in Longton and Moline before moving to Cambridge, Kansas where Beverly was raised. She received her education in Burden, Kansas, graduating from Burden High School in 1975.
She enlisted in the United States Army when she was only 17 years old, spending bootcamp in Fort Jackson, South Carolina, and was stationed in Germany the remainder of her service. Beverly enjoyed camping, fishing, and most of all taking care of her flowers. She also enjoyed spending birthdays and holidays with family.
Survivors include her husband Dale M. Shipman, Jr.; her son Christopher Walker; her daughters, Tisha Walker, and Tamica Walker; her mother Letha Fox and husband, Franklin; her brothers, Edward Fouch, Carl Fouch, and Terry Fouch; her sisters, Caretha Fouch, and Katherine Laverty, and husband, Eric; three step-brothers, and three step-sisters; sisters-in-law, Corrina Wilson, and Mona Perky; and her grandchildren, Alexis Walker, Zakiyah Winn, and fiance, Andre Jones, Kenyara Winn, Daryus Reynolds, Amahjah Amezcua, Zhayla Reynolds, Tatum Walker, Cortez McNeal, Joziah Walker, Zhy'ona McNeal, Christopher Walker, Jr., one great grandchild on the way, Adonis Jones; and over 40 nieces and nephews.
Beverly was preceded in death by her father Richard Fouch, a sister Deborah Fouch, and two sisters-in-law, Lisa Fouch and Dixie Fouch.
Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 A.M., Wednesday, December 14, 2022 at Miles Funeral Service in Winfield. Private family inurnment will take place at the Kansas Veterans Cemetery at a later date. A visitation is scheduled on Tuesday evening from 4:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home. The family will greet visitors at that time.
A memorial has been established in Beverly's name for the St. Jude's Children's Hospital. Contributions may be made through the funeral home.
