Betty Jo Thompson, 86, of Udall, Kansas, passed away Monday morning, April 04, 2011 at Villa Maria in Mulvane.
Born August 18, 1924 in Udall, Kansas, she was the daughter of William Alonzo and Carol Elvina (Rusher) Seaman. She was raised and received her education in Udall graduating from Udall High School in 1942.
Betty Jo was united in marriage to Gaillard "G. K." Thompson on January 04, 1945 in Udall. The couple made their home in Udall. During the war Betty Jo worked as a Riveter for Beach, Cessna, and Boeing. She then went to work as the treasurer of Udall, where she remained for over 40 years. She also worked for the City of Winfield in the utilities department, and later for Cowley County in the appraisers office.
She was a member of the Udall United Methodist Church and Rebekah's Lodge. She enjoyed quilting, traveling, and going fly fishing in Colorado. She especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Her grandchildren: Amy Felix; Michael McClure; Melissa Huntley; AlmaAnn Jones; William Klaassen; Angela Tanner; Jason Thompson; and
Her 16 great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents Betty Jo was preceded in death by her sister, Blanch Holmes and her two brothers, George Seaman and Lee Seaman.
Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, April 07, 2011 at 2:00 P.M. at the Udall United Methodist Church. Interment will follow at the Udall Cemetery. Friends may call at Miles Funeral Service from 4:00 to 8:00 P.M., Wednesday, April 06, 2011. The family will greet visitors from 4:00 to 6:00 that evening.
A memorial has been established in Mrs. Thompson's name for the Udall United Methodist Church. Contributions may be made through the funeral home.
