Betty S. Bazil Hickey, 84, of Winfield, Kansas, passed away Sunday morning, May 2, 2021 at Winfield Senior Living.

Born August 7, 1936 in Winfield, she was the daughter of Frank E. and Thelma (Wilt) Warren. She was raised and received her education in Winfield, graduating from Winfield High School in 1954.

Betty was united in marriage to George C. Bazil on July 3, 1955 in Winfield. The couple made their home in Winfield where Betty began working in the produce department of Albertson's Grocery Store. She later began her career at Binney and Smith where she remained for over 30 years until retiring in 1997. Mr. Bazil preceded her in death on August 28, 2010.

She married Wesley Hickey in September of 2012. The couple made their home in Arkansas City, Kansas, and later divorced. Betty enjoyed shopping and going antiquing.

Her family includes her son Brett Bazil and wife, Ann of Winfield; her sister JoAnn Bruce of Winfield; her grandchildren, Audree Gottlob and husband, Russell of Winfield; Jamie Wilson and husband, Brad of Mitchell, IN; Thomas Wehmeier and companion, Derek Maxwell of Winfield; Jennifer Wehmeier of Great Bend; and her great-grandchildren, Rachel Bazil-Powell, Carson Wehmeier, Mark Wilson, Corbin Gottlob, and Clayton Gottlob.

In addition to her parents and first husband, Betty was preceded in death by a daughter Clifdel Wehmeier, a grandson Derek Bazil, and a great-grandson Paul Bazil.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M., Friday, May 7, 2021 at Miles Funeral Service in Winfield. Interment will follow at Highland Cemetery. A visitation is scheduled at the funeral home on Thursday evening May 6, 2021 from 4 to 8. The family will greet visitors from 6 to 8 that evening.
