Benjamin Lawrence Gates, 34, of Winfield, Kansas, passed away, Friday afternoon, April 28, 2017 at his home in Winfield.
Born January 23, 1983 in Dallas, Texas, he was the son of Kendall L. and Rachel D. (Thomas) Gates. He attended the Kansas Neurological Institute Special Purpose School in Topeka, Kansas. His attendance started in 1986, and concluded with his successful completion in 2001. In 2010 he moved to Winfield, Kansas to live at his Easter Seals Capper Foundation home. Benjamin enjoyed his home visits, and his time spent interacting with others.

He was preceded in death by his brother Brian Gates, and nephew Trenton Woldum.
The family will hold Memorial Services on Saturday, May 20, 2017 at 11:00 A.M. at Cornerstone Church of Caney, 900 S. Ridgeway in Caney, Kansas. Miles Funeral Service is in charge of the arrangements.
