Barry Daniel Simpson, 77, of Winfield, Kansas, passed away Friday afternoon, November 19, 2021, at Centerpoint Medical Center in Independence, Missouri.

Born April 28, 1944, in San Rafael, California, Barry was the son of William Daniel and Pauline Elaine (Root) Simpson. Barry lived at the State Hospital and Training Center in Winfield until the late 1990s. He later moved into a local CCL home and lived there for many years before moving to a different CCL home in El Dorado in 2018. Barry returned to Winfield in October 2021.

He enjoyed listening to music, especially Rock & Roll and Country genres. Barry also had an interest in cars and participating in Fishing with out Boundaries. He liked his alone time and being in a quiet environment.

Barry was preceded in death by his parents and his loving guardian of many years, Sue Jean Brooks. He is survived by his caregivers and friends at the Capper Foundation.

A celebration of Barry's life will be held at a later date. Arrangements are under the directions of Miles Funeral Service.

A memorial has been established in Barry's name for the Capper Foundation. Contributions may be made through the funeral home.
