Barbara Shrubshall, 83, of Winfield, Kansas, passed away Friday morning, January 8, 2021 at her home.

Born February 26, 1937 in Winfield, she was the daughter of Harold and Lela (Wilson) Darnell. She was raised and received her education in Winfield.

Barbara was united in marriage to Lowell E. Shrubshall on February 11, 1961 in Winfield where the couple made their home. In addition to being a dedicated homemaker Barbara also worked in several area restaurants as a waitress. She also helped manage the family's restaurant on the north end of Winfield. Mr. Shrubshall preceded her in death on October 11, 2011.

She was a member of Central Baptist Church. She enjoyed sewing, painting, needlework, quilting, and going for rides around the park. She especially loved spending time with her family.

Her family includes her son John Darnell of Winfield; her brothers, Sam Darnell of Wichita; Charlie Darnell of Wichita; and her seven grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and husband, Barbara was preceded in death by a son Michael Darnell, a great grandson Garrett Darnell, and a great granddaughter Lela Bosley.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M., Thursday January 14, 2021 at Miles Funeral Service in Winfield. Interment will follow at Highland Cemetery. A visitation is scheduled at the funeral home on Wednesday evening from 4 to 8. The family will greet visitors from 4 to 6 that evening.

The family ask that in lieu of flowers contributions be made to help defray funeral expenses. Contributions may be made through the funeral home.
