Barbara Diana Seaman, 91, of Winfield, Kansas, formerly of Udall, passed away early Friday morning, December 28, 2018 at William Newton Hospital.

Born November 11, 1927 on the family farm near Udall, Kansas, she was the daughter of Luther B. and Ina Irene (Cook) Ferguson. She was raised and received her education in Udall, graduating from Udall High School. She then attended beauty school in Wichita.

On February 14, 1946, Barbara was united in marriage to Lee Olen Seaman at her parents' home near Udall. They moved to Borger, Texas in 1948 and ran a business until 1956. In 1958, they returned to the Udall area. Mr. Seaman preceded her in death on September 18, 2009.

Barbara was a member of the Udall United Methodist Church and was very involved in the Udall community, serving as President of the Udall Fall Festival for a number of years. She was also a member of the Udall Cooperettes and was a 4-H leader. She enjoyed quilting, painting, ceramics, gardening, growing flowers, as well as other craft projects.

Her family includes her son Ken Seaman of Wichita; her daughter Diana Klein of Winfield; her sisters, Jewell Lacey of Udall; Carolyn Miller of Silver City, NM; Linda Morton of Udall; and her six grandchildren, Kendra Seaman, Kevin Seaman, Heather Acosta, Danielle Widener, Gage Werner, Leevi Werner, and 17 great grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and husband, Barbara was preceded in death by a sister, Joyce Brookings, a son, Terry Seaman, a grandson, Theodore "Ted" Werner, a granddaughter, Kamela Seaman, a daughter-in-law, Kathy Seaman, and a son-in-law, Lloyd Klein.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M., Wednesday, January 2, 2019 at the Udall United Methodist Church. Interment will follow at the Udall Cemetery. A visitation is scheduled for Tuesday, January 1, 2019 from 4 to 8 P.M. at Miles Funeral Service in Winfield. The family will greet visitors that evening.

A memorial has been established in Barbara's name for the Udall United Methodist Church. Contributions may be made through the funeral home.
