Barbara Love-Lawrence, 78, of Winfield, Kansas, passed away September 19, 2015 at her home.
Born March 10, 1937 in Arkansas City, Kansas, she was the daughter of Merril "Bud" and Mary Francis (Reeder) Caton. She was raised and received her education in Winfield, graduating from Winfield High School in 1955.
Barbara married Arnold R. Love in 1955 at the Winfield Episcopal Church. They enjoyed boating for many years all over the Midwest, including Missouri, Arkansas, Oklahoma and Kansas. They also enjoyed snow skiing and loved attending dances with friends. Mr. Love preceded her in death.
Barbara enjoyed planning and participating in fabulously fun class reunions and was president in 2010. While at a class reunion, she reunited with Earl L. Lawrence and on June 13, 1992 the couple married. They enjoyed traveling all over the United States and lived in California for seven years. They also traveled to Mexico and most recently, Brazil. She enjoyed hosting foreign exchange students from Brazil, Germany and Norway. She was very proud of Ingunn and Rodrigo with whom she has kept in touch.
Barbara was always donating her time; she was an EMT Rescue Reserve with the Winfield EMS and taught CPR. She was a president of the State Chapter of Epsilan Sigma Alpha. She was also a member of Cowley County Hospice, Cowley County Humane Society, Elks, was a Winfield Main Street volunteer and served on the Winfield Historical Society. Barbara loved her chosen career as a Medical Transcriptionist; starting at the Winfield State Hospital and Training Center and later at Snyder Clinic, California Transcription and Winfield Medical Arts.

Her son: Tom Lawrence and wife, Kim of Springfield, IL;
Her ten grandchildren;
Many special friends, including Dee Mike Allison, Adrienne and Skylar Ledy;
Her two cats: Amelia and Kitten; and
Many former international exchange students worldwide.
In addition to her parents and first husband, Barbara was preceded in death by a son, Brett Merril Love and infant daughter, Debra Marie Love.
Memorial services will be held on October 2, 2015 at 1:00 P.M. at Miles Funeral Service in Winfield, Kansas. Private family inurnment will take place at a later date.
A memorial has been established in Barbara's name for the Cowley County Humane Society. Contributions may be made through the funeral home.
