Barbara Louise Kaiser, age 68, of Winfield, Kansas, passed away Friday, November 27, 2015 at Wesley Medical Center in Wichita due to cancer.

Barbara was born January 26, 1947 in Inglewood, California to Alma (Erdtmann) and William Cochran. They moved to Wichita, Kansas when Barbara was one year old. Barbara attended high school at St. John's Academy and then went on to St. John's College, graduating in 1967. After St. John's, Barbara worked as a nurse aide at William Newton Hospital. In 1969, she started working at St. John's College until its closing in 1986. In October of 1986, she started working at Southwestern College and continued working there until her death. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church.

While at Southwestern College, Barbara was involved as a "foster parent" to many of the College's football, volleyball, and men's and women's basketball players. She loved all of "her kids" like they were her own.

Barbara married Dale Eastman in 1967. They had one daughter, Karin Ann and later divorced. Barbara then married Gordon Kaiser in 1977. They had two children, Aaron David and Kevin Todd.

Barbara is preceded in death by her parents, Alma and William.

Her daughter: Karin Ann Shiever of Winfield;
Her sons: Aaron David Kaiser and fiance, Dana Brotherton of Oklahoma City, OK; Kevin Todd Kaiser of Wichita;
Her brother: William David Cochran of St. Louis, MO;
Her granddaughters: Sarah Dawn Shiever and her friend, Terrion Blakely, Kori Dawn Kaiser and Kelsea Blythe Kaiser;
Her great-granddaughters: Deanna Marie Blakely and Audrianna Noelle Blakely; and
Her nieces and nephews: Dawn, Chrissy, David, Joshua, Daniel, David, Curt, James, Rachel, Matthew and John.

Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, December 2, 2015 at 10:00 A.M. at Trinity Lutheran Church. Interment will follow at the Kansas Veterans Cemetery. Friends may call at Miles Funeral Service on Tuesday evening from 4 to 8 P.M. The family will greet visitors during this time.

Memorials have been established in Barbara's name for the Southwestern College Athletic Department and for the Winfield Recreation Center. Contributions may be made through the funeral home.
