Barbara Ann Holt Hicks, 68, of Winfield, Kansas, passed away Sunday, October 8, 2023, at her home.

Barbara was born August 16, 1955, at Forbes Field in Topeka, Kansas.  She was raised and received her education in Texas where she graduated high school.  She then attended ATI in Texas and received her Medical Assistant certificate.

Barbara worked for many disability home health care services, retiring from South Wind in Winfield.  She enjoyed watching old black and white movies and old westerns.  She loved her sunflower seeds, cooking, and working in the yard when she was able.

Her family includes her husband Hoy Buck of Winfield; her daughter Rachel Holt Whitlock of Houston, TX; her step children, Mia Topper of Atlanta; Heath Schlecht of Lewiston, MI; her three grandchildren; two step grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; eight step great grandchildren; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Barbara was preceded in death by her parents.

Private services will be held at a later date in Azle, Texas.  Cremation is under the direction of Miles Funeral Service.

A memorial has been established in Barbara's name to help defray funeral expenses.  Contributions may be made through the funeral home.
