BARBARA J. FLOWER, 78, of Winfield, Kansas, passed away Friday morning, October 31, 2008 at her home.
Born on August 11, 1930 in Augusta, Kansas, she was the daughter of Valentine and Junetta (Ross) Hada. She received her education in Augusta and later Winfield.
She was united in marriage to Keith M. Flower on May 24, 1947 at the United Brethren Church in Winfield. She was employed at Flower Grocery for many years. Barbara and Keith owned and operated the Sinclair Service station for 31 years. She later was employed at Graves Drug store. Mr. Flower preceded her in death on September 22, 2004.
She enjoyed fishing, camping and traveling to Arizona and Texas with her husband. Most of all she enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Her sons: Keith L. Flower and wife Janet of Winfield, KS; and Clifford E. Flower and wife Sharon of Winfield, KS;
Her sister: Wanda Hada of Winfield, KS;
Her 5 grandsons;
Her 4 great-grandsons and 4 great-granddaughters; and
Her 3 sister-in-laws, Dorothy Flower, Alice Flower and Cleta Flower.
In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by her sisters, Virginia Johnson and Donna Chappell; her step-father, Chester A. Voorhees.
Graveside funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M., Monday, November 3, 2008 at Highland Cemetery in Winfield. Friends may call at Miles Funeral Service on Sunday, November 2, 2008. The family will greet friends from 2:00 to 4:00 P.M.
A memorial has been established in Barbara's name for Hospice Care of Kansas. Contributions may be made through the funeral home.
