Barbara Ann Spurrier, 72, of Winfield, Kansas, passed away early Tuesday morning, March 21, 2023, at her home.

Born December 17, 1950, in Wichita, she was the daughter of Joseph Ellwood and Altha (McFarland) Spurrier. Barbie was a long term resident of the Winfield State Hospital and Training Center before coming to live at Cappers. She enjoyed listening to soft easy music, a quiet environment, resting in the afternoons and on the weekends, and spending time with friends. She liked to look nice, wear make-up and jewelry, and look at herself in the mirror.

Barbie will be missed by her guardian Chad Mayberry and wife, Nancy of Winfield; and the staff and residents at Cappers.

Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 P.M., Monday, March 27, 2023, at Miles Funeral Service. Interment will take place at Highland Cemetery.

A memorial has been established in Barbie's name for RiverCross Hospice. Contributions may be made through the funeral home.
