Aurora M. Lo, 84, of Winfield, Kansas, passed away Saturday morning, June 20, 2015, at her home in Winfield.

Born January 13, 1931 in Kaunakakai, Molokai, Hawaii, she was the daughter of Eusebio and Leonila (Enabore) Malapit. She was raised and received her education in Hanapepe, Kauai, and graduated from Waimea High School in 1948. She then attended the University of Hawaii.

Aurora was united in marriage to August Lo on August 6, 1949 in Kauai, Hawaii. The couple made their home on the island of Oahu, and Aurora went to work as a secretary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Social Service where she remained until retiring in 1986. In October of 2014 the couple moved to Winfield, Kansas.

She was a very active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints for over 58 years. She held many callings over the years at the church including Young Women's President, Relief Society President and Seminary Teacher. She loved music and enjoyed sharing this love with others as the director of many choirs. She also enjoyed doing arts and crafts. Her family was her passion, which made her the heart and catalyst, molding strong family values and bonds.

Her sons: Michael Lo and wife, Jocelyn of Saratoga Springs, UT; Russell Lo of Salt Lake City, UT;
Her daughters: Laura Johnson of Orem, UT; Aurene Mallory and husband, Clinton of Baton Rouge, LA; Julie-Ann Lo and husband, Greg of Winfield, KS; and
Her 21 grandchildren and 44 great grandchildren.

Aurora was preceded in death by her parents and 8 siblings.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M., Monday, June 29, 2015, at Miles Funeral Service in Winfield, Kansas. Interment will follow at the Kansas Veterans Cemetery in Winfield.
