Augustine "Gussie" Reiser, 91, of Winfield, Kansas, passed away Friday evening, May 28, 2010 at William Newton Hospital.

Born July 4, 1918 in Skogmo, North Dakota, she was the daughter of Johannes and Katherine (Goll) Mattheis. She was raised on her family's farm and received her education in Goodrich, North Dakota.

Gussie was united in marriage to Otto Reiser on October 14, 1943 in McClusky, North Dakota. The couple made their home in McClusky where they ran the family farm. In addition to helping on the farm Gussie was a dedicated homemaker. Mr. Reiser preceded her in death in 1965. In 1971 she moved to Liberal, Kansas to be near her children. In Liberal she began working as a Child Care Provider, and continued until she retired in 1983. In 1995 Gussie moved to Winfield to be closer to her daughter.

She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Winfield. She enjoyed reading, gardening, growing flowers, crocheting, and listening to music.

Her family includes:
Her sons: Jack Reiser and fiancé, Susan of Turpin, OK; Jerry Reiser and wife, Ann of Las Vegas, NV;
Her daughter: Karen Tatro, and husband, Charles of Winfield, KS;
Her grandchildren: Michael Tatro; Shane Reiser; Tiffany Gonzales; Michelle Fronick; and
Her great grandchildren: Ashley, Hayley, Chase, Dylan, Gabe, and Andrew.

In addition to her parents and husband Augustine was preceded in death by her 12 brothers and sisters.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, June 2, 2010 at 2:00 P.M. at Miles Funeral Service in Winfield. Interment will take place on Saturday, June 5, 2010 at 11:00 A.M. at the McCluskey City Cemetery in McClusky, North Dakota. Friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday, June 1, 2010 from 4 to 8 P.M. The family will greet visitors from 4 to 6 that evening.

Memorials have been established in Gussie's name for Trinity Lutheran Church and Winfield Rest Haven. Contributions may be made through Miles Funeral Service.
