Obituary

Anna Mae Paisley, 81, of Arkansas City, Kansas, passed away Saturday, December 25, 2021, at the Glen Carr House in Derby, Kansas.

Born March 17, 1940, in Fayetteville, Arkansas, she was the daughter of Hosea and Archie (Haskins) Lamb.  She was raised and received her education in Ponca City, Oklahoma, graduating from Ponca City High School in 1958.

She was united in marriage to Neal Stuart Paisley on August 29, 1959 at Albright United Methodist Church in Ponca City.  The couple made their first home in Norman, while Neal attended Oklahoma University.  They later lived in Bartlesville for a short time before moving to Arkansas City.  Anna Mae was a devoted homemaker, caring for her husband and teaching her daughters cooking and sewing.  She was also a Campfire Girl leader, as well as a 4-H leader.

In the early 1970's, she attended Cowley County Community College, graduating with an associate degree.  Anna Mae worked as a bookkeeper at various businesses, including Wright-Burton Hardware and  Barnes Co. She retired from Barnes Co. in 2006.

She was a very active member of Arkansas City United Methodist Church serving as a financial secretary for many years. She was also a member of the American Business Women Association.  Anna Mae and Neal enjoyed square dancing, round dancing, and traveling.  The couple took many bus tours all over the country, including Colorado, New Mexico, Alaska, and Yellowstone.  Anna Mae loved her cats and especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Her family includes her daughter June Solomon and husband, Kurt of Arkansas City; her son-in-law Randy Eaton of Clearwater; her brothers, Joe Lamb and wife, Minnie of Lubbock, TX; David Lamb of Yukon, OK; her grandchildren, Bryce Scott and wife, Talia of Arkansas City; Shelby Turberville and husband, Forrest of Mansfield, OH; Carson Solomon of Arkansas City; her great grandchildren, Tayten Blatchford, Haisley Scott, and Sutton Scott; and her nephews and nieces.

In addition to her parents and husband Neal Paisley, Anna Mae was preceded in death by her daughter Cara Eaton.

Memorial services will be held at 2:00 P.M., Thursday, December 30, 2021, at Arkansas City United Methodist Church.  Services are under the direction of Miles Funeral Service.  Private family inurnment will take place at Resthaven Sunset Memorial Cemetery in Ponca City, Oklahoma at a later date

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials to Arkansas City United Methodist Church and the Alzheimer's Association.  Contributions may be made through the funeral home.
