Anna Lea Jamison, 96, of Winfield, Kansas, passed away Wednesday, May 24, 2023, at William Newton Hospital.
Born September 25, 1926, in Denver, Colorado, she was the daughter of Arthur Stanley and Mary Lea (Moore) Johnson. Anna grew up on a farm south of Dexter, attending Fairview School and Dexter High School. She lived around the Dexter area until 1951, when she moved to Winfield.
She married Emil Linek in 1945 in Winfield. To this union, a son was born, David M. Linek. She later married Robert M. Jamison in 1970 and the marriage ended in divorce. Anna worked in a cafe and variety store as well as the laundry mat, all the while being a stay at home wife and mother. She loved the farm and enjoyed bowling and dancing.
Her family includes her nephew Gary Majors and wife Becky of Tulsa, OK; cousins, Maudie Stands, Marvin Howard Moore, and Freida and Benny Swisher; an adopted granddaughter Renee Pennington; two step-sons; and many extended family members and friends.
In addition to her parents, Anna was preceded in death by her son, sister Edna Mae Majors, brother Stanley M. Johnson, an infant brother, Calvin, and a niece Linda Main.
Graveside funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M., Tuesday, May 30, 2023 at Dexter Cemetery. Friends may call at Miles Funeral Service on Tuesday morning from 9 to noon.
A memorial has been established in Anna's name for the American Heart Association. Contributions may be made through the funeral home.
