Ann R. Munson, 88, of Winfield, Kansas, passed away Tuesday morning, December 20, 2022, at her home.

Born February 7, 1934, in Lemmon, South Dakota, she was the daughter of James Thomas and Goldie (Huff) McKeever. She was raised and received her education in Rock, Kansas, and later Winfield, graduating from Winfield High School. Ann worked for several area ranchers alongside her dog Cotton.

Ann worked at several area cafes, including Ranch Lunch on the north side of Winfield. She then worked as an aide at St. Mary's Hospital before beginning her career as a bartender at the Little Casino, where she remained for over 40 years.

She was united in marriage to Harold Munson on July 10, 1971, in Winfield. The couple made their home in Winfield. Ann later became a caretaker, caring for several individuals in Winfield and retiring from Cumbernauld Village in 2016. Harold preceded her in death on October 13, 2010. She enjoyed crocheting, working on crafts, reading, cooking, spending time with grandkids, and caring for people.

Her family includes her children, Tony Webber of Winfield; Dawn Andes and husband, Klay of Winfield; two sisters, Helen Ziegler of Winfield; Lois Henderson of Winfield; and 15 grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren, two great-great grandchildren, and a host of nephews and nieces.

In addition to her parents and husband, Ann was preceded in death by two sisters, Dorothy and Betty, an infant brother, and two daughters, Terry Halstead and Jacqueline DeVaughan.

Memorial services will be held at 10:00 A.M., Tuesday, January 3, 2023, at Miles Funeral Service. Private family burial will take place at the Atlanta Cemetery at a later date.

A memorial has been established in Ann's name for the Cowley County Humane Society. Contributions may be made through the funeral home.
