Amor R. Aguirre, 63, of Winfield, Kansas, passed away Tuesday night, July 12, 2016 at his home.
Born September 19, 1952 in Naga City, Philippines, he was the son of Jose and Gloria (Ramirez) Aguirre. He was raised in Naga City and received his education in Metro Manila, Philippines.
Amor was united in marriage to Cristina Salandanan on April 19, 1974 in Manila, Philippines. The couple made their first home in Naga City and later moved to Nagas Tiwi Albay, Philippines. While in Tiwi Albay, he worked as a Mechanical Engineer for the National Power Corporation, where he remained for over 20 years until retiring in 2000. In 2012, Amor and Cristina moved to Winfield, Kansas to be near family. While in Winfield, Amor worked at SuperWash, CCL, Goodwill and was currently working in food service at the Kansas Veterans Home.
He was a member of Holy Name Catholic Church and the Adoration Society in Winfield, Kansas. While in the Philippines, he was also a member of Knights of Columbus, Basic Ecclesial Community, Marriage Encounter and Lites in the Spirit. He enjoyed watching television and reading.

His daughters: Sister Elizabeth Anne Aguirre of Murcia, Spain; Elizabeth Grace Zimmerman and husband, David of Winfield; Katrina Grace Fernandez and husband, Llyod of the Philippines; Cristina Pamela Aguirre and partner, Ryan Bruton of Winfield;
His brother: Allen Aguirre and wife, Letty;
His sisters: Lourdes Francia Ordones and husband, Alex; Lorena Aguirre; Alley Williams and husband, Henry; and
His grandchildren: Heart, Therese, Dianne, Niko, Joshua, Elijah, Carla, Buggy, Stian, Alyssa, Yza, Josh, Jhed, Baby Gabe and Rain.
In addition to his parents, Amor was preceded in death by a brother, Antonio Aguirre.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, July 18, 2016 at 10:30 A.M. at Holy Name Catholic Church. The Rosary will be recited Sunday evening at 7 P.M. Friends may call at Miles Funeral Service Saturday from 10 A.M. to 7 P.M. Private burial will take place at Cladio Private Cemetery in Tiwi Albay, Philippines at a later date.
A memorial has been established in Amor's name for Holy Name Catholic Church. Contributions may be made through the funeral home.
