Amelia "Amy" Boucher, 87, of Burden, passed away Monday afternoon, September 20, 2010 at Winfield Rest Haven.
Born August 29, 1923 in St. Marks, Kansas, she was the daughter of John and Clara (Mannebach) Schoenecker. She was raised and received her education in Schulte, graduating from Cathedral High School in 1940. After school she worked as a riveter during World War II for Cessna Aircraft.
Amy was united in marriage to Jack Boucher on October 8, 1959 in Miami, Oklahoma. The couple made their home in Rose Hill where she worked for Westholts in the wiring department. In 1967 the family moved to a farm near Burden. While in Burden Amy was a dedicated homemaker helping to raise her family. She later went to work for Cessna Aircraft at Strother Field, and then for the Burden School District as a Bus Driver, where she remained for over fifteen years, retiring in 1992.
Amy was a member of Holy Name Catholic Church in Winfield. She enjoyed crossword puzzles, music, playing Yahtzee and cards. She especially loved spending time with her family.

Her sons: Jack C. Boucher and wife, Pam of Wichita; Jon Boucher and wife, Diana of Burden;
Her daughters: Kay Pruitt and husband, Jim of Wichita; Kathy Van Zelfden and husband, Brian of Wichita;
Her daughter in law: Bonita Hizar of Dodge City;
Her 17 grandchildren, 31 great grandchildren, 2 great-great grandchildren; and
Many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents Amy was preceded in death by two sons: Gary Hizar; Dale Boucher; three brothers: Alvin Schoenecker; Gene Schoenecker; Lee Schoenecker; and one sister: Marcella Dusenbery.
A Celebration of the Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, September 24, 2010 at 10:00 A.M. at Holy Name Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Highland Cemetery in Winfield. The Rosary will be recited Thursday evening September 23rd at 7:00 at the Holy Name Catholic Church. Miles Funeral Service is in charge of arrangements.
A Memorial has been established in Amy's name for Holy Name Catholic Church. Contributions may be made through the funeral home.
